I worship Govinda, the Primeval Lord, the First Progenitor Who is tending the cows, yielding all desires, in abodes built with spiritual gems, surrounded by millions of purpose-trees, always served with great reverence and affection by hundreds of thousands of Lakshmis or Gopis.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Shri Krishna, also celebrated as Govinda, the one who gives pleasure to the cows, and Gopal, the one who takes care of the cows, ever engages Himself in herding, milking and taking care of the Surabhi cows in the most magnificent holy land of Vrindavan, filled with lush green grass, tender and delicious, which is relished by the cows, at the banks of the river Yamuna, the crystal clear and fragrant waters of whose currents are sweeter than nectar and are enjoyed by the cows of Vrajendranandan Shyamsundar. Shri Gopal Chudamani (the best amongst the cowherds) personally looks after His thousands of cows in his eternal abode of Shridham Vrindavan and being his eternal servants, we too should give our utmost care and affection to the cows. Serving the cows gives one the opportunity to become the recipient of special mercy from Govinda and make substantial progress on the path of spiritual life. Therefore, we request everyone to serve the cows as per one’s means and make their lives sublime with the affectionate blessings of mother cow.
