“He Krishna! O Supreme Personality of Godhead! Be merciful upon the conditioned living entities in this age of Kali. Giving up the path of righteousness, they are engaging in sinful activities, thus wasting the blessed human form of life, the golden opportunity to free oneself from the cycle of birth and death by taking shelter of your lotus feet. In this age of Kali, one can be delivered from this material world just by chanting your holy names and serving you with love and devotion, yet the jivas are not taking advantage and are burning in the hell of sinful materialistic life without even realising their precarious situation. Only you can save them by bestowing the cooling rays of your mercy. Take pity upon them and bless this earthly planet with your appearance. He Dinabandhu! He Karunasindhu! You must appear here for the benefit of the living entities. Please come and deliver everyone by giving them loving devotion to your lotus feet. Destroying the effects of Kali, please inundate the universe with pure love of Godhead. This servant of your’s is beseeching you to please appear.” Praying like this every day, Srila Adwaita Acharya would worship his Shaligram shila with tulsi leaves and Ganges water. Seeing the condition of the living entities, he felt that only the Supreme Lord himself would be able to help the jivas cross over the ocean of material existence.
Being the incarnation of Mahavishnu and Sadashiva, his loud crying out and heartfelt prayers were heard by the Lord. Desiring to fulfil the desire of Srila Adwaita Acharya, Sri Krishna decided to appear as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the age of Kali to deliver all the living entities by preaching the glories of Krishna’s holy names and bestowing upon one and all the ecstatic love of Godhead.
