45 years ago, on this very day of Ram Navami, the moons of Sri Sri Gaur Niati, Sri Sri Krishna Balaram, Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar, Lalita and Vishakha devi, arose on the horizon of Raman Reti in Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir, by the causeless and boundless mercy of His divine grace Srila Prabhupad. Although the Lord, in his localised Paramatma feature, is residing in every atom, and is himself personally residing in Sridham Vrindavan along with all his eternal associates, it is not possible for the neophyte devotees to perceive the all attractive and all sweet Lord with their materially contaminated eyes. Therefore, the pure devotees, as Srila Prabhupad, manifest the deity form of the Lord to give the sadhakas an opportunity to serve the Lord in the Archa-vigraha form and thus purify themselves to be able to see not just the physical form of the deity but, by anointing the eyes with love and devotion, see the sat-chid-ananda form of the Lord, walking and talking with us and performing his various transcendental pastimes. In order to facilitate this awakening of bhakti in the hearts of the devotees, Srila Prabhupad established Sri Gaur Niati, Sri Krishna Balaram and Sri Radha Shyamsundar, the beauty of whom is unparalleled in the entire universe. For the devotees who have been serving their Lordships wholeheartedly for many years, and also for those who come to visit whenever they can, the Lords in the Krishna Balaram temple are their life and soul. The inundating ocean of mercy coming forth from Sri Sri Gaur Nitai sweeps away all the devotees taking shelter at their lotus feet. Sri Sri Krishna Balaram have indeed enchanted thousands upon thousands of onlookers with their captivating form and smile. And Srimati Radhika presides over the hearts of one and all as the reigning Monarch. Accompanied by her dear Sakhis Srimati Lalita devi and Srimati Vishakha devi, she increases the charm of Shyamsundar a million fold, such that all those who set their eyes upon him can barely look elsewhere.
Having mercifully appeared in our midst in the Deity form, the Lord has showered unlimited mercy upon us. But upon contemplating, one can understand that the true ocean of mercy is Srila Prabhupad, for it is only on his strength and request that the Lords themselves are now present in front of us and accepting our services, which although wrought with numerous faults are aimed at their pleasure and satisfaction. In the Srimad Bhagwatam, the Gopis say that the eyes of a person are useless if they have not seen the two beautiful sons of Maharaj Nanda, Krishna and Balaram, and only by the mercy of Srila Prabhupad can we rest assured that our eyes have indeed achieved all perfection for we have been blessed with the opportunity to take darshan of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram in ISKCON Vrindavan. The pure devotees are undoubtedly the most magnanimous for they freely share with everyone the greatest treasure of their heart and so has Srila Prabhupad also opened his heart and given us our dear Lords.
On this auspicious occasion, we pray to them to keep us forever engaged in their loving service and keep bestowing their causeless mercy upon us. May their glorious be the ornament of our ears. May their beautiful forms be the object of our vision. May their holy names be the only vibrations coming from our lips. May the fragrance of flowers and incense offered to them be the only smell entering our nostrils. May each and every limb of ours be utilised in their service. And may all our thoughts forever dwell in them and them alone.
