The wonderful activities of the Iskcon Youth Forum in Vrindavan are continuing with great appreciation from the schools where the team goes to preach the message of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna as it is given in the Bhagavad Gita. Despite the fact that all the schools that they visit are in Vrajamandal and one would automatically expect the children to know about the Supreme Truth and the importance of spiritual life, the truth is that the culture is diminishing with time and with it the spiritual values are also disappearing. It is therefore equally important to give spiritual education to the children in Vraja as well.
The IYF Vrindavan team is currently conducting a 5 days program in a school named Gram Swavalambi Vidyalay Inter College situated next to Chhatikara, where Sureshwar Prabhu, Chaitanya Rupini mataji and Shraddha mataji, the 3 members of the team, are giving the students knowlegde regarding the absolute truth. On the first day of the program, the students were given free Bhagavad Gitas and Japa malas and were taught the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. The topic under discussion on the first day was about the existence of God and the proof therefore, and one shloka from the Bhagavad Gita was taught to them. Over the course of the next 4 days, 4 more shlokas and various other interesting and important topics will be discussed with the students and at the end of the course a small test is taken, the successful passing of which earns the students a certificate and gifts for those who perform exceptionally well. Each session ends with prasadam distribution and everyone goes home with important topics for contemplation.
Due to the sincere efforts of the devotees involved, the blessings of Srila Prabhupad and the influence of the Dham, all the students are very receptive and take interest in the programs and the teachers are also very cooperative and welcoming.
We request all the devotees to pray that the efforts of the IYF team can bear good results and more and more children take up some spiritual practice in their lives. Those who would like to know more about the efforts and programs of IYF Vrindavan and would like to sponsor such programs which are currently being financed by Sureshwar Prabhu himself, can write to him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
