“In every town and village, the chanting of My name will be heard.”
(Caitanya-Bhāgavata, Antya Lila 4.126)

This was the prediction made by Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahaprabhu over 500 years ago, which is being fulfilled by his empowered “senapati bhakta” (great devotee commander) A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON.Following in Prabhupada’s foot steps, the devotees of the Namahatta department, ISKCON Vrindavan’s preaching division, are tirelessly spreading and preaching Krishna Consciousness in the radius of 100 kms from Vrindavan.

Last week the Namahatta department participated in an excellent preaching program held in a nearby small town called Etha, 123 km from ISKCON Vrindavan, which recently saw the opening of a new Namahatta center on Nityananda Trayodashi.

Though the Namahatta team has been preaching in this town since last four years it was the first time that the programme was on such a big scale where more than 1000 people participated in the Harinam kirtan. Also, more than 300 Bhagavad Gitas were distributed to partcipants. This successful programme was organised, in the S.D. Inter College, by Mahimamvrita Prabhu and Ananda Nimai prabhu. The owner of the college, Shri Yogendra Yadav and his wife, also the principal of the college, Smt. Anupama Yadav are also those who are also very active member of this Namahatta centre. They helped in many arrangements including the cooking and distribution of prasadam. From ISKCON Vrindavan a team of six devotees participated in the above programme. They are Rupasreshata prabhu, Madan Gopal Prabhu, Narad Prabhu, Sridham Prabhu, Shyamal Prabhu and Rakhal Raja prabhu who led the team.

Though the devotees were tired by the long and arduous travel they were became jubilant and were energized by seeing the large crowd. The programme began with one and half hour of kirtan followed by wonderful lectures by various devotees. Then the Namahatta team distributed over 300 Bhagavad Gitas numerous families.

The programme ended with a joyful announcement by the local organisers that very soon Etha Namahatta will be acquiring one acre of land to build a beautiful temple in the future. After having a sumptuous Prasadam made by the Anupama Mataji the team left for Vrindavan.

Namahatta preachers have successfully been able to attract this large number of souls to the process of bhakti by following the Instructions of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu: “talk about Krishna, worship Krishna and teach others about Krishna.”
