gita-shastram idam punyam, yah pathet prayatah puman

vishnoh padam avapnoti, bhaya-shokadi-varjitah.

One who, with a regulated mind, recites with devotion this Bhagavad-gita scripture, which bestows of all virtue, will attain a holy abode such as Vaikuntha, the residence of Lord Vishnu, which is always free from the mundane qualities based on fear and lamentation.

All glories to the most wonderful song emanating from the lotus mouth of Sri Krishna. Replete with the deepest truths of transcendental philosophy and shining as brilliantly as the sun, this Srimad Bhagavat Gita dissipates the darkness of ignorance and thus directs one on the virtuous path of Krishna consciousness. Srimad Bhagavat Gita has always been one of the most important Vedic literatures. It is the very foundation of spiritual life, upon which one can build the stable and secure mansion of loving devotional service to the Lord. Without a good understanding of tattva, or philosophical truths, one is surely prone to fall into the multifarious traps of the material energy.

It is therefore common practice among Vaishnavas to regularly recite, hear, or arrange regular recitation of the Srimad Bhagavat-gita, for great benedictions are bestowed upon those who do so. Although it is the best to recite yourself, you may also sponsor a Bhagavat Gita Recitation. The entire Bhagavat Gita, comprising of 700 verses in 18 chapters, will be recited in the most auspicious land of Vraja for your transcendental upliftment.
