With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the world was brought to a standstill. All major institutions in India faced a closure in the interest of public health and safety. Temples were no exception to this closure norm.
We at ISKCON Vrindavan sincerely followed all directives laid down by the Government and the Administration, so, in the best interest of public health and safety, our temple also was closed to the public.
Although the temple doors were closed, the pandemic was unable to hamper our zeal and enthusiasm to spread Krsna consciousness across the globe.
In this moment of need, our Call and Connect Center headed by Her Grace Tirthesvari Radhika and her team served to bridge the physical distance between Sri Sri Radha-Syamasundara and devotees throughout the world. They did so by blending their amazing creativity with technological know how and infectious enthusiasm.
For example, they helped organize various online pujas on behalf of interested devotees, such as naivaidyam-puja, Bhagavad-gita recitation, pancopacara-puja, trividhi-seva, and others. The entire puja ceremony was video recorded and sent to the donor. In they way, they felt connected with the puja and were able to personally observe the offering.
The team continue to offer wonderful seva opportunities to the devotees and perform pujas on their behalf, for the pleasure of Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, Sri Sri Krsna Balarama and Sri Sri Radha-Syamasundara, thus enabling the devotees to get the mercy of their Lordships in Vrindavan even without being physically present here. Of course, Srila Prabhupada made it clear that it is a sincere call of the heart through the all glorious holy name that actually evokes that mercy.
The pujas and service opportunities provided by the call and connect department can be found on the Iskcon Vrindavan donation page under the heading “Pujas”.
