What is the story of Pandva Nirjala Ekadashi?

The story behind the Pandava Nirjala Ekadashi is associated with the Mahabharata. Bhima, one of the Pandavas, was a voracious eater and could not observe the traditional Ekadashi fasts, which require abstaining from all food and water for the entire day. So, he approached sage Vyasa for a solution, who advised him to observe a single Nirjala (without water) Ekadashi fast instead of observing all 24 Ekadashis in a year. Bhima followed the sage's advice and observed the Nirjala Ekadashi, which helped him gain the same spiritual benefits as observing all the Ekadashis.
