Sri Vrindavan-dham is home to many devotee families, sincere sadhakas who have chosen to stay here and raise their children in Srimati Radharani’s divine abode . Fortunately for these children, our ISKCON Vrindavan community values these children, and in a serious commitment to nurture them and safeguard their futures, a bond of service has been forged.
Back in 2016, a small group of parents and teachers got together to create a preschool for their toddlers. Although without a fixed residence, the core team quickly joined hands to formulate a proper curriculum and instructional approach based on the best practices of traditional early childhood pedagogy and successful devotee schools worldwide. Krsna Balarama Preschool started offering primary classes, and enrolling more children. In 2018, in light of its expanded scope , the project changed its name to Krsna Balarama Community Day School, KBCDS .
Now, as ISKCON Vrindavan shifts its gaze forward in time, permanent premises for the school have been granted in the Srila Prabhupada Vani Ashram , a sprawling garden property on the lane to Bhaktivedanta Goshala, and the sky’s the limit: in Vani Ashram, there is room to grow, so our KBCDS children can easily stay with us from age two all the way through their secondary studies. Board affiliation is now possible, and those who chose may prepare for ICSE/ISC exams. Parallel to the Indian board strand, so as to provide alternatives for a broader population, the original arts-based, spiritually-enriched, custom curriculum designed by the founders of KBCDS will continue to evolve and flourish as well, inspiring international and local learners alike to deepen their explorations and knowledge as they become the innovators, and sincere sadhakas, of the future.
Sponsorship at KBCDS
Go on cooperating in this way, and I am sure this mission of Caitanya Mahāprabhu will be successful. It must be successful because Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu wanted it to be done. Simply we, the workers, the servitors, must be very sincere . Then Caitanya Mahāprabhu will give us more and more facilities so that we can work very well. So keep this mission always in view and do your best . That is my only request. (Srila Prabhupada in an arrival lecture in Mayapur, 27 September 1974).
In a sincere attempt to do our very best to serve the children of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s sankirtana movement, we must find ways to renovate, ameliorate, and maintain the facilities that we have been so generously allowed to utilize here in Srila Prabhupada Vani Ashram. Three levels of sponsorship are required:
