The extraordinarily genius and author of innumerable Bhakti literatures, famous as the seventh goswami, Srila Bhakti vinod thakur made his divine appearance in this world for the benefit of all the conditioned living entities on the Shukla trayodashi tithi in the month of Bhadrapada. While working in various government posts and maintaining his grahasta life, he simultaneously dedicated himself to the preaching and propagation of the mission of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Kaliyuga avatar. Through his various books like, Jaiva Dharma, Prem Pradip, Bhajan Rahasya, Harinaam Chintamani, Navadwip mahatmaya and his poems, he has beautifully elaborated on the sidhanta taught by our previous acharyas headed by Rupa Goswami. Indeed, a person who seriously studies the books of Srila Bhakti Vinod thakur is sure to be left with no questions unanswered regarding any subject matter pertaining to Bhakti. Right from the very basics of explaining jiva tattva, maya tattva and Bhagwat tattva, upto the most esoteric subject matters of Madhurya rasa, he has explained everything very beautifully in his numerous books. Due to his erudition in the subject matter of Bhakti, he was honoured with the title of being the Seventh Goswami, and rightfully so, for he has blessed the world with such jewels that we shall forever remain indebted to him. Along with his books, he also excavated the holy appearance place of Sri Sachinandan Gaurahari in Sridham Mayapur, and brought Srila Jagannath das babaji maharaj over there, who confirmed that SRi Yogapeetha was indeed the most auspicious birthplace of Gauranga. After having retired from family life, he spent his entire time writing transcendental literatures while residing in Sri Godrum dweep. Being totally immersed in the pastimes of his worshipable Lord Sri Godrumchandra Gaurahari, he composed the beautiful Sri Godrumchandra Bhajan upadesh, where, in one of the verses, he instructs us on how to perform bhajan to the lotus feet of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu,
bhaja godruma-kānana-kuñja-vidhum
Remaining devoted to the service of the Vaisnava’s, being addicted to drinking the sweet nectar of the name of Hari, and with a mentality endowed with modesty, humility, and compassion, just worship Lord Gaura, the moon of Godruma’s forest bowers.

On the holy appearance day of Srila Bhakti Vinod thakur, we pray to the dust of his lotus feet, to please bestow upon us true sincerity, so that we may be able to nicely practice bhakti and some day be blessed with the service of Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar in Golok Vrindavan under the jurisdiction of Sri Kamala Manjari, the from of Srila Bhakti Vinod thakur in the spiritual world.
